The village of Vaxholm is a resort town located about 50 kilometers from Stockholm. Though you can drive to Vaxholm, it's much more fun to go by ferry, which takes about 75 minutes to make its way through the Stockholm Archipelago to the town. The archipelago itself is home to over 24,000 islands, many of them populated with summer cottages.
