Scandinavia's most visited museum and home of the world’s only surviving
17th-century (war) ship, the Vasa. This ship is displayed in this
purpose-built museum which was inaugurated in 1990. The wreck the Vasa
was salvaged in 1961, after 333 years on the sea bottom in Stockholm's
harbour. It remained almost completely intact, which made it an
invaluable find for many historians and archaelogists. An absolute must
see when visiting Stockholm! |
