Admired by travellers as well as artists, the Charles bridge crosses the Vltava river since the beginning of the 15th century and connects the Old Town and Mala Strana. Spanning more than half a kilometer and protected by three bridge towers, the Charles bridge is considered an important gothic style building. The bridge is decorated by several statues.
