The
Notre Dame is a Gothic cathedral, located in the fourth arrondissement,
and is considered a prime example of French Gothic architecture.
Construction of the Cathedral started in 1163 and was effectively
completed around 1345. Approximately 13 million people from all over the
world visit the Notre Dame every year. Trivia: "Point zero", the
reference point for distances along the highways starting in Paris, is
located in the square in front of the Notre Dame.
