The Musee du Louvre is, besides the Eiffeltower, one of the most popular and famous attractions in Paris. It is the most visited museum in the world and is hosted in the impressive Louvre Palace. The museum opened in 1793 and nowadays displays more than 35,000 works of art, in eight different departments. These include: Paintings, Decorative Arts, Sculptures and Egyptian antiquities.
