The impressive Plaza Mayor is located in the heart of the city and was built during the Habsburg period.

The Palacio Real de Madrid is the largest palace in Western Europe(built between 1738 and 1755) and open to the public.

This large square, west of the Gran Via, features a monument to Miguel de Cervantes, a Spanish novelist.

The 'Jardin Botanico' was founded in 1755, the collection of this botanic garden includes more than 1,500 trees.
