Madrid's biggest and most famous bullring is called La Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas del Espíritu Santo, in short Las Ventas. This impressive building is formed of red brick and ceramic tiles. The bullring was completed in 1929, by a design of José Espelius and Muñóz Monasterio. The best time to see a bullfight in Madrid is during the months of May and June when San Isidro, the world's most famous bullfighting festival takes place.
