The "Parque del Buen Retiro" is an impressive public park in Madrid, situated close to the Prado Museum. It features a large artificial pond, the Estanque del Retiro. The park has been used as the location for various international exhibitions. Several buildings have remained as testimony to such events, including the Minig building, popularly know as the Velázquez Palace (1884) by architect Ricardo Velázquez Bosco, and the Palacio de Cristal. The Buen Retiro remains a great place to relax and escape the crowded city center of Madrid!
