The Plaza de España is one of the largest squares in Madrid, a major tourist attraction and located at the western end of the Gran Via. The Torre de Madrid and the Edificio de España are two prominent buildings surrounding the square. A monument to Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, a Spanish novelist, is located in the center.
