Probably one of the most famous department store in the world, Harrods is a must see when visiting London. It was founded in 1834 by Charles Henry Harrod (1799-1885) and was bought in 1985 by the Fayed brothers. More than 300 departments, visited by more than 15 million customers each year, offer a wide range of (luxury) products and services. Trivia: in 2007, Harrods hired a live cobra to protect an expensive pair of diamond-encusted sandals.
