The
majestic Schloss Charlottenburg (Charlottenburg Palace) is the largest
palace in Berlin, built at the end of the 17th century in several
stages. It was originally intended as the summer 'house' for Sophie
Charlotte, the wife of Friedrich III. Together with its garden it is one
of the main attractions in Berlin and certainly worth a visit! During
the second world war this palace was badly damaged, but completely
reconstructed between 1957 and 1970. |
