Opened in 1894, the Reichstag was constructed to be the first parliament
of the German Empire. In 1933 it was severely damaged in a fire and it
remained in a bad state until it was completely reconstructed by the
famous architect Norman Foster. In the very top of the building is the
iconic glass dome with a 360 degree view of the city, which is open for
the public. Nowadays the German parliament, the Bundestag, makes use of
this prominent landmark.
