Checkpoint Charlie was the name of the most well known Berlin Wall
crossing point between East Germany and West Germany during the cold
war. The orginal guard house is now on display in the Allied Museum in
Berlin-Zehlendorf, but a copy still remains on its original location,
together with a sign that once marked the border crossing. Actors are
dressed up as former allied military policemen and tourists can have
their picture taken with them for a small fee. |
