The Rijksmuseum, the van Goghmuseum and the Stedelijkmuseum are situated in the museum quarter. The Rijksmuseum has a large collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age, including the world famous 'Nightwatch' made by Rembrandt, and a substantial collection of Asian art. The van Gogh museum features the works of the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries. It has the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings and drawings in the world. The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (lit. Urban Museum Amsterdam) is a museum for modern art in the Netherlands.
